Sarah Palin Might Sue New York Times

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is considering suing the New York Times for libel after the Times published a Wednesday editorial falsely accusing her of inciting Jared Lee Loughner to shoot Rep. Gabby Giffords in 2011 even though it has long been established that there has never been any evidence whatsoever linking Palin to the attempted assassination.

Palin tweeted that a journalist suggested to her on Thursday that the Times “has fulfilled the two criteria for libeling a public figure”—a reckless disregard for the truth and malice.

She said she is “talking to attorneys this AM and exploring options.”

After James T. Hodgkinson, who supported Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and hated President Donald Trump and Republicans, shot House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) and targeted other Republicans as they were practicing for their Congressional baseball game, the Times decided to publish an editorial on Wednesday in which it falsely blamed Palin for the assassination attempt on Giffords:

Was this attack evidence of how vicious American politics has become? Probably. In 2011, when Jared Lee Loughner opened fire in a supermarket parking lot, grievously wounding Representative Gabby Giffords and killing six people, including a 9-year-old girl, the link to political incitement was clear. Before the shooting, Sarah Palin’s political action committee circulated a map of targeted electoral districts that put Ms. Giffords and 19 other Democrats under stylized cross hairs.

In addition, despite plenty of evidence to the contrary (Hodgkinson asked at least two Representatives whether the players on the baseball diamond were Republicans or Democrats before he started shooting), the Times added that “there’s no sign of incitement as direct as in the Giffords attack”

As Breitbart Editor-at-Large Joel Pollak pointed out, “the Times‘ false equivalence between the two shootings provides a sick excuse for what Hodgkinson did by making it appear to be partially Republicans’ fault. That is worse than ‘fake news.’ It is an effort to exploit a horrific act of violence for the purpose of stoking political divisions, reinforcing the hysteria in which Hodgkinson was steeped.”

I support Sarah Palin 100%, but I must advise her against believing she can get a fair trail in the court’s, 90% of the judges nowadays are indoctrinated from their time spent in college…most of the fair judges have long sense expired…the judges on the bench now rule on their politics and hatred of a free sovereign nation…period! Save your money Sarah because the judicial system is nothing by a cash cow for the crooked lawyer’s & Judges that are only in it to enrich their selves’.

    • ggob

Most of them are all coons and beaners nowadays.

      • Ron C

        You are a disgusting troll.

  • bobwhite1935

Sarah please sue the fake news New York Times demonazi rag, it’s about time you Republicans make these fakers pay for their lying attacks on you all.

  • meangreenMarine

Sarah Palin, Sue these lying scum for all they are worth, take over the News Paper, fire ALL of these lying, self-serving so-called reporters and hire leadership and staff that wants to publish the News and not some warped opinion! Good Luck! It would be nice to see the Nee York Times again instead of the current New York Slimes!

    • ggob

Why doesn’t Alex Jones just use his share of the divorce settlement and buy the Times?

  • Bernie

  • Ron C

All the NYT need do is judge shop, and it won’t be hard being 90% of the judges rule on their liberal politics’…we no longer have a judicial system. Colleges are mere indoctrination centers…I know it is sad, but it is what America has come to…nothing but cry baby snowflakes come out of indoctrinating colleges nowadays…that are hell-bent wanting to destroy a free sovereign nation.

    • ronniecanoli

      You got that ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.

    • ggob

And blah, blah, blah. More crap fro the phony ”patriots.” Jeez, why don’t you get join reality with the rest of us?

      • Ashleyhdewar

my best friend’s step-mother makes 85 US dollars hourly on the computer . She has been fired from work for nine months but last month her pay check was 17089 US dollars just working on the computer for a few hours. see it here ++++++++++

      • Ron C

You wouldn’t know reality if bit you in the butt.

  • ronniecanoli

    • ggob

Definitely, that’s the only way you’re going to make any money after quitting halfway through your governorship.

  • george briar

the NYT is nothing more than a liberal rag generating lies and false news. Sarah better hurry and sue them before they go out of business. Hillary was seen in central park today appearing drunk and screaming at Pidgeon’s claiming they voted for Trump instead of her. in other news some liberal democrats broke into a shoe store stealing all the shoes except the work boots. and that’s how the cops knew they were democrats.

    • ggob

Actually, that is pretty funny! I didn’t know any of you cranky old people had a sense of humor! ;>)

  • SherryMac1956

    Do it Sarah!!!

  • Cathy

I hope she does sue them – these rags and stations like CNN and MSNBC need to be charged and prosecuted for the outright lies that they publish and report. It is beyond disgusting and somebody suing and winning a boatload of money would shut some of the jerks up!

    • ggob

That is one ugly cat. Why don’t you donate it to a Chinese restaurant?

      • Cathy

I think I’d prefer to suggest that you donate your brain to science when you die because judging from your stupid comments to almost everybody – maybe they can slice open your tiny little pea brain and discover what made a loser like you so stupid, boring, lonely, useless and just plain bitter.

  • She should sue for ownership, if she won the rag might actually print some thing true. I agree with Ron C though, they probably couldn’t find an honest judge in NY. In the next civil war the conservative side should win easy, the left don’t like guns so they would try to talk us to death. The only thing keeping up the political divisions are the Democommies and their cohorts.

NYTimes is far from being a rag, daily has some of the most insightful and well-written articles found anywhere – and the mere thought of Ms.Wasilla suing them is good for a laugh. You’re right folks, she would get nowhere – not because of the court system, but because she comes across as a tad less than having all the lights in her chandelier still working. Like DJT, a lot of what she says makes little sense and has no facts behind it – as they used to say – “running off the chin.”

    • ggob

Oh, how very cruel. Stop throwing facts around like some kind of objective fool!

    • omen11

Yes, the NY Times does have insightful and well written articles but it’s too bad there is no factual substance behind what they write. If you believe in the NY Times then you must still put your teeth under your pillow.

  • omen11

Palin should sue. The NY Times is nothing more than a rag as is the Enquirer magazine that was sued many times for lies and just plain made up stories. The 1st amendment covers true reporting. The NY Times along with most of the major media has been hiding behind the 1st amendment and openly admitting to the fake news as a snub to the Constitution. Sue them Sarah. When they have to start laying out millions in law suits then they will stop and only then.

    • ggob

Yuk. Oh, double-yuk and hee, hee, hee.

  • bbarnicle

There were five Dem.’s ready to vote “No” on Obamacare. Giffords (one of them) was shot. And poof…Obamacare passed with no Dem. “No” votes. And from that point on, Congressional Dem.’s voted in lockstep for the majority of Obama’s regimes.

Message sent – message received. You want to know where moderate, bluedog Dem.’s went? Just look at that moment in time, where they got the message on that pass-it-or-else (per Pelosi) Obamacare bill.

    • ggob

      Barnacle Bil the Sailor?

      • bbarnicle

No, but my dad was Navy, and I contracted with the Navy.

  • lordhoff

    — and Gifford’s shooter was a radical liberal – why no mention of that ever????

    • ggob

  • Sue them Sarah, no guts no glory, if you have nothing to fear then you have nothing to worry about. Sue them for all the money they hope to make , sue them so they will be bankrupt forever.

    • ggob

Oh, why bother? One of you people will just blow up the NYT building some day.

  • Carl Carlson

Sue-em Sarah, Sue-em. Not for any chump change, make it mega millions,

  • Millard Huff

I hope Sarah Palin puts the New York Times out of business.

  • George Hilliard

Sue the dirt out of them, Sarah.

  • Are you just talking out loud to yourself about blowing up the building, or just hoping someone will. Well I think if she desires to sue them and if she has nothing to fear about the outcome then sue them but make it worthy of your efforts by suing for a lot of mula more than they would care to pay out also don’t take any plea bargains as this only lets them off the hook go for the gold all their gold in your pocket. Also when you win they will never try that again because they will be broke and you will have all their MONEY, go for it Sarah.
