In the middle of October, Gallup Polls conducted a survey to see how Americans feel about owning a gun in the home.
Fifteen percent (15%) of Republicans were found to believe that a gun in the home is actually a threat to the safety of the residents in that home.
And as you might guess, nearly half of all Democrats believe that a gun in the home is an unnecessary danger.
Well, that’s the bad news. The good news?
Deaths from guns as well as overall gun disapproval are at historic lows. Take a look at this image depicting some of the stats:
According to the same poll, violent crime is at an all-time low. Since 1993 violent crime has fallen tremendously.
Interestingly enough, in 1993 the amount of Americans who owned personal firearms was at its all-time high of 51%. The current rate of ownership is approximately 40%.
And at this current time, a whopping 6 out of 10 Americans approve of guns in the home.
Here’s what Guns’N’Freedom said: “The number [who approved of gun ownership] was 35 percent, 14 years ago. It went up to 42 percent in 2004 and 47 percent in 2006, before billowing to 63 percent in 2014, according to the poll. The percentage who believe guns in homes make them more dangerous has also been on a decrease since 2000, when it was 51 percent; it now stands at 30 percent. ”
Keep in mind, these are facts. Not sensationalized propaganda like the liberals use to demonize guns on a massive scale.
And no, not all Republicans approve of gun ownership.
No one’s really sure why they’re Republican, but then again, if you’re one of the Tea Party faithful, you know not all Republicans can be trusted anyway.
That might be an opinion shared by some, or even many. But what’s not opinion is gun ownership leads to a reduced crime rate.
If you’re pro-gun, there’s something you should know. Just because you own a gun doesn’t mean you’re safe. Don’t believe it?
What happens when you’re attacked and you don’t have your gun with you? What then?
