New developments in the Las Vegas massacre are getting more bizarre by the day.
Law enforcement sources told CBS News they believe shooter Stephen Paddock used the freight elevator at the Mandalay Bay hotel in the days leading up to the attack, but they did not immediately know why or how often he used it.
CBS News also reported that after combing through Paddock’s electronic devices — including a laptop and cellphone — law enforcement officials were still unable to pinpoint a motive for the shooting that left 58 people dead.
In other developing news, the Reno Gazette-Journal reported that paddock’s home in the Del Webb neighborhood had been broken into over the weekend.
Officer Tim Broadway with the Reno Police Department said the suspect or suspects entered the home through the front door, adding that he was not sure how exactly the suspects gained entry.
Broadway said while Reno officers were revisiting the scene, they realized it had been broken into and notified the FBI. He added that the department is working with the bureau to “make sure there are no further incidents.”
