MSNBC Suggests Trump Is A Racist

John Heilemann, NBC’s News national affairs analyst, suggested that American voter hold Trump “accountable” for using “the language of white nationalist.”

Heilemann stated, “Yesterday when he used the phrase ‘infestation,’ it called to mind—it was basically saying immigrants, people who come to this country are vermin. That’s what he was saying. It’s the language of white nationalist, splinter, hard right crazy town parties. And we have haven’t heard it in our politics in a long time. We’ve heard it in our politics in history, but not in a while. He’s going to go—he’s still going to use that language between now and November because he thinks it works with the part of his group, of his base.”

“You can’t go around talking about people like they’re vermin, you can’t inflict this kind of policy on Americans and not pay a political price. We have a great chance to inflict one on him and his party in November—we, meaning the Democratic Party does. I’m not part of the Democratic Party, but people who object to this policy, which I think is a lot of people beyond the Democratic Party, have a chance to make the president and his party pay a price and they should. The press needs to hold him accountable and not let him slide away from this the next course of days and let this happen.”

  • Timothy Toroian

Wasn’t the Klan around before Trump. I seem to remember reading that somewhere. But, by calling trump a racist they prove themselves to be, anti white.

    • Along Came Jones

You are right and they were Democrats too.

  • Edward

INFESTATION – invaded or inhabited by a large number, could be insects and vermin but does not exclude large numbers of people or DRUGS!

  • Heileman is leftist anti Trump scum!

  • DrBillLemoine

When you have scandal and lawbreaking at the magnitude of Trump administration, there must be a price paid by them. The place to register any objection, beyond these blog comments, is at the ballot box. No 2 ways about it. Throw in the Republican leadership in congress and you need redress this November. Clearly the right isn’t able to govern (never was) and should be replaced by those sympathetic to common sense legislation in immigration, healthcare, environmental protection, progressive taxation, financial regulation and international relations.
You know the symptoms of disease. Children incarcerated, ripped from mothers’ arms; affordable healthcare denied to all especially women; clean air/land/water going away for commercial interests; rich men and corporations getting permanent tax cuts, not workers; bank customers money jeopardized like 2008; and critical climate and trade organizations abandoned. These are aimed to Make America Grovel Again, the new acronym for MAGA. Defend these policies if you can till election day.

    • Along Came Jones

Spoken like a true idiot, how many illegals are you supporting in your welfare supported household?

    • Mister007

      BS

    • Kenneth Bailey

Explain to me 8 years of failed policies and raised the dept and lied everytime he opened his mouth. What did Obama do for 8 years we’ll I’ll tell you what he did, he robbed us blind and did more harm to America. TRUMP has gotten moving in the right direction the economy is way better, unemployment is at a record low. We had a choice between another corrupt demorat that was going to keep Obama’s failed policies going or choose a leader looking out for America. I was raised demorat but I would never vote for anyone that kills babies or tries pushing communism. That’s not what America needs.

      • DrBillLemoine

Immigration of illegals decreased, taxes were fairer between rich and workers, sea levels rising were accounted in Paris accord, NAFTA and trade relations didn’t garner retaliation of allies and trade partners, Iran couldn’t develop nuclear bombs any more, race relations weren’t erupting, children weren’t ripped from mothers’ arms for jailing. THOSE are failed Trump policies we never had before. By contrast you cite nothing specific as lying, robbing and harming America.
BTW the stock markets doubled under Obama, have stalled under Trump–I’m a trader. Unemployment figures are low but derived from workers who formerly held jobs as reported by better corporate employment under Obama, yet still untrained by Trump. Hillary was framed by 40 years of dirt digging already settled, but raised again by Trump and his Russian mafia friends via hacking and phony Facebook accounts plus illegal foreign funding. THERE’S corruption.
MAGA isn’t happening with allies hating and rejecting TRUMP, us watching him schmooze with every tinhorn dictator while alienating generations of allies since WW2. Miami and Newport News Navy base are sinking beneath the waves but we withdraw from Paris climate control (costly to fat cats and corporations). I call it Making America Grovel Again MAGA. The Swamp isn’t being drained but stocked with likeminded crooks discovered every day, many of them fired to avoid Trump embarrassment. You didn’t know when you were better off as a Democrat.
I don’t favor abortion, but you favor mother/child separation–what’s the different, and federal money doesn’t fund baby killing. And it’s TRUMP who is the puppet of Putin as we are finding out.
America needs someone, anyone, other than Trump to thrive.

        • GomeznSA

So are you suggesting yourself for president – you claim to have all the answers (NOT). You have swallowed so much kool-aid you are drowning in it. Don’t bother to reply, I have little time for bigoted individuals.

          • DrBillLemoine

I’m certain I’d make a better president regarding human rights violations than Trump and company, so thanks for the suggestion, not take from anything I said. I simple repeat the human rights policies espoused by fair minded, rights oriented Americans abiding the Bill of Rights. Nothing I’ve said is bigoted, simply oriented toward truth and justice.

        • Helland

What difference could the Millions of illegal immigrants here make in their own country if they were to work as hard there as it’s said they work here?

          • DrBillLemoine

That’s most of their problem staying in the homeland. At least for central American countries citizens there fight gangs, drug dealers seeking coyotes, human traffickers and death threats. How can they stay at home and work hard facing life threatening situations? Tell Trump to assist those countries to subdue their gangs, improve their economies and guarantee life, liberty and pursuit of happiness and they won’t need to come here–ala Colombia drug suppression American helped to do. Trump has the power.

          • Helland

The American Revolution might be a good example. We had help from few, except France late, and that was for their political advantage.

          • DrBillLemoine

Good example of what? Rochambeau and Lafayette both aided Washington and were helpful in defeating the English. England, as in Rule Brittania, ruled the world having defeated most everybody on the Continent and elsewhere in the British Empire. There aren’t many willing to help upstarts.

          • Helland

As I remarked about the French, late into our effort. Although thanks are due LaFayette and Rochambeau and Baron Von Steuben. And I don’t recall reading much about the rebelling colonialists (only about 30% of the population) requiring foreign aid as a prerequisite to their defense of themselves and homes.

          • DrBillLemoine

Adm. DeGrasse prevented the English fleet from interfering in the Yorktown defeat of the British. Late or not France was the turning point toward denouement and freedom. Also remember the incipient nation was States run by their elites, not the 30% you cite. Don’t you consider the French to be foreign aid???

          • Helland

I don’t deny the eventual help we had during the American Revolution, I DO maintain that aid was not demanded of other powers by any of the “elites, businessmen, dirt-farmers, blacks, or any one” else when they elected to defend themselves. And 30% is the generally accepted number of ALL people in all the colonies who supported the American Revolution.
Why would people of other nations have the thought that we should accept them here rather than demand that THEY do something about it if their gov’ts are corrupt? That is their civic responsibility.

          • DrBillLemoine

I know of no other nation than France where we had an ambassador asking for help, Ben Franklin. It was the only other power able and ready to counter England. I don’t know what you mean about ‘elected to defend themselves’ or how it relates to the issue at hand. You forget that most other nations are run by strongmen, dictators or kings, people against which you don’t ‘demand’ anything. Most people aren’t aggressive or have a tradition of freedom like you to even think of attaining it or maintaining it at home. There is no ‘civic responsibility’ outside a free country.
It’s a credit to mass media that such people know the land of ‘milk and honey’, America. Where else would they go than nirvana? You also neglect to mention immigrants asking for asylum.

          • Helland

Then change the remark to “chose to defend themselves”. I agree many lands are run by corrupt thieves, and eventually any man or men will grow tired and defend himself (theirselves), where he stands. Less than 20% of the requests for asylum fit the legal requirements of our country. Fleeing crime is not one of the qualifiers either. Let them fight or die trying, to set the wheels in motion for their own country. By the way, if they have no understanding of civic responsibility in their native land, what makes you believe they will miraculously understand it here?

          • DrBillLemoine

I’ve not suggested citizens abroad don’t know civic responsibility, only that it’s long odds to defend or use it in many countries. They know because they choose to come to America, not other countries. For an example of what I say, look to Turkey today, where Erdogan is slowly eroding rights and he’s accruing powers to make himself a dictator; he is only using voting to cover for his takeover. In Russia where it’s more obviously a dictatorship, dissidents are killed or jailed, so tell me how masses can oppose a dictator, Putin, without jeopardizing themselves, which involves children many times in our immigration issue? Trump recognizes no ‘asylum’ when he insists now on immediate turnaround and deportation for ALL border crossers and ignores our own Constitution and law which grant rights to all, not just asylum seekers. Yet you support him–wrongly as an American, if you value law and order.
You again ignore humanity when your ‘fleeing crime’ is crime threatened on a person–drug carrying, prostitution, human trafficking. You aren’t thinking very deeply about these personal issues, only the superficial laws with wacky positions on them.
Also, ‘grow tired and defend’ ignores the 70 years or so of communist domination in Russia where there were scant uprisings, and yet many pogroms, purges and murders to retain power. Few people throw away their lives when it’s simpler to live withdrawn, something Americans have yet to do, in spite of your isolationist and America First mantras; in our traditions we demonstrate, have free speech, sue wrongdoers, vote, and get active. That’s what’s so remarkable about Arab Spring, Putin Opposition, Eastern European nations joining NATO, etc. to defend themselves or seek a better life. Not everybody bucks our border patrol. The numbers have decreased for many years, despite Trump’s rabble rousing.

          • Helland

“There is no ‘civic responsibility’ outside a free country” was your statement. i maintain there is for any man who would be free.

“and ignores our own Constitution and law which grant rights to all, not just asylum seekers” Not so.. It grants rights to citizens and privileges to legal aliens.

” without jeopardizing themselves, which involves children many times in our immigration issue?” Sorry, there can be no freedom without sacrifice, Read of our ancestors and the forefathers of our Nation..

          • DrBillLemoine

Our rights are guaranteed by the Constitution including all persons, not just citizens. You should reread the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 14th Amendments and get an education. Ignorance of the law is no excuse for cruelty. Your opinion is noted about responsibility, but it’s hard to enact in dictatorships, under duress from gangs, or in the face of criminal intent.
YOU read of our forefathers again. They anticipated that you would violate or defy the laws and planned accordingly which you barely know aside from Fox (Comedy) News.

          • Helland

Do non citizens have constitutional rights?
Other rights in the Constitution are secured to “the people.” “The people” is usually read as U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents. Thus, non-citizen permanent residents have the right to bear arms, to peaceably assemble, and to be secure from unreasonable searches and seizures.
Do non-citizens of the United States have Constitutional …
            http://www.quora.com/Do-non-citizens-of-the-United-States-have-Constitutional-rights

The amendments you cite apply to Criminal procedures.

“Hard to enact”..You are right about that and anything worth having is worth fighting for,

My sources are far wider than Fox News, The Declaration of Independence,The Articles of Confederation, The U.S. Constitution, The Federalist Papers among others.

          • DrBillLemoine

“Usually read” doesn’t apply as you dream. People means people, not only citizens. Do you even support the Constitution? You convince yourself in print, not your mind.
If immigration reform is ‘worth fighting for’, why don’t you support Affordable Care act, installed after decades and multiple administrations trying? Conservatives don’t in public.
You must remember that head knowledge from reading and memorization isn’t the same thing necessarily as knowing meaning understanding. That comes from the interaction of education with a teacher, sharing ideas in the public forum and learning apace. Sources are just the start of that, necessary but not sufficient for complete thinking.

          • Helland

This comes close to my stance.

            Our Grandparents

This was written by Rosemary La Bonte to the editors of a California newspaper in response to an article written by Ernie Lujan, who suggests we should tear down the Statue of Liberty because the immigrants of today aren’t being treated the same as those who passed through Ellis Island and other ports of entry. The paper never printed this response, so her husband sent it out via internet.

Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan why today’s American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented.

Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home.

They had waved goodbye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture. Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them. All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity.

Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out. My father fought alongside men whose parents had come straight over from Germany , Italy , France and Japan. None of these 1st generation Americans ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Americans fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan They were defending the United States of America as one people.

When we liberated France, no one in those villages were looking for the French American, the German American, or the Irish American. The people of France saw only Americans. And we carried one flag that represented
one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country’s flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white, and blue bowl.

And here we are with a new kind of immigrant who wants the
same rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a
different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee
of being faithful to their mother country.

I’m sorry, that’s not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900s deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work, and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags.

And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty, it happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill.

    • pete0097

I guess that you don’t work to earn your money. You probably live in a state with high taxes. The liberals have been giving away the farm and put down personal responsibility and creativity so that everyone is “equal” Tell that to the people that have tried to immigrate here and died along the way in Mexico, Guatemala or Honduras. They thought that America would support them and pay for their future. We only see the ones that survive, many do not. Oh, and by the way, what about the wall along the southern Mexican border? The democrats just waste our tax dollars on pointless things that are so mismanaged that the people that are supposed to be helped are not.

      • DrBillLemoine

I’m done earning my money, now retired. I let my money make money for me in a low tax state. You haven’t noticed but it’s Trump making white nationalists superior to blacks and minorities, Jews and Catholics, the old KKK mantra, not ‘equal’ as you dream. Tell the people emigrating from homelands with drug runners, rapists, human traffickers and gang threats not to escape that hell. They chose to die rather than suffer any more a living nightmare you accept mindlessly in the abstract. America is still the land of opportunity–all my immigrant friends work harder, have higher morals and pay taxes more than others. You obviously don’t know any. Most of my doctors are naturalized immigrants.
You ignore that Republicans ran up the debt from zero to $15 Trillion and lately another $2.3 Trillion. And you don’t really care because it doesn’t influence anything in your life, it’s just political propaganda.
BTW no wall ever build kept out anybody in history as designed.
Highways to nowhere, tax cuts for the rich, 2 wars are not my idea of managed economics under Bush2 or Trump. You have been bilked, and don’t even know it.

    • Jim

DR. Bill, are you sure you went to school to be a DR,? you sir, are full of stink just like all the rest of your kind. You don,t deserve a reply so I will not give you one.

You know if the mainstream media would pulled their heads out of Obama’s azz long enough to get oxygen to what little brain they have but they got their heads up Obama’s azz that you can’t tell where Obama ends and the mainstream media begins. You know they have to be crazy to think we are falling for all of their lies. Soon you people will be shut down completely. It’s coming soon. I’m gonna celebrate it.

The Left, including the DEM Party, are frightened to death that Americans believe their Country, the USA, actually belongs to them, not to the UN & Not to the World’s Worst!
We have suffered an “Infestation”of People, who do not share our Values & who have no desire to become Americans. Yes, President Trump is Right!

The meaning of the word infestation is a troublesome invasion…msnbc called it vermin so obviously they are the racists…they along with CNN keep digging a bigger hole..you would think with their ratings they would be off the air

  • GomeznSA

Yep , DJT is definitely a ‘racist’ just look at all the awards he got from various black centric groups. Seems like he only became a racist (and a sexist) after he wandered off the ‘d’ plantation and dared to run for president – much less get elected.
